Subject:Fly Away!
Security:Public

This all happened yesterday.
It's nice to see familiar faces when we're working. We get volunteers and its fun to have happy people around. This is one of my good friend's sister.

Even missionaries came to help.

Now this is where it gets funny. We started unloading crates and positioning them inside the library when I noticed something moving in the corner of my eye. A bird had somehow ended up inside the new library. You can see the little sucker on the books. I was hoping he wouldn't crap on any of them. That is when one of the Elders mentioned he could catch birds.

Okay, can you imagine two Elders trying to catch a bird? I don't even remember who suggested using a crate but the image is funny.

Well that little sucker decided to get himself stuck inside the wall. I don't know how but Elder Gilbert tried to get him out with his gloves.

It was quite funny until the bird disappeared even further into the wall. We had no choice but to leave him there. I wondered what would get the little sucker first: Starvation? Suffocation?

I later found out that the bird got out and was flying around again. Good. I didn't want to think about what would happen if he passed onto birdie heaven
Other than that, it was an alright day. I was mainly working in the non-fiction section. It was getting annoying how many different shapes of books there are. I mean the fiction is pretty much a standard size and shape. The non-fiction however are so weird! Even the art books are huge! We'll see how that all turns out.
Well, that is all for now.
Adios.

Subject:Glory! Non-fic
Security:Public

One of the coolest things about our new library is that staff will now have a kitchen! Yeah!! I was so excited to hear this. And after seeing an empty space of just purple tile, there is now the makings of a kitchen.

We got a lot done yesterday. Myra is one tough chick. She is fast and efficient. And thanks to her, I can show my "after" pictures. Here is the adult non-fiction.

We are separating the juvenile non-fiction from the adult non-fiction. I didn't realize how much juv non-fic we had. And the funny thing is, non-fiction books seemed to be a lot heavier than fiction books. I just never thought about it before.
Moving the books over to the new library is a workout. Once you load up and drive over, you have to unload and set up the crates by number: largest number on bottom, smallest number on top. Then you have to set them up in the general area they would be shelved. So these non-fiction books went in two different areas. And viola! Shelving them is a bit of concern to me. I am beginning to wonder if we will have enough room. Hmmm. Well, we'll see.

Well, this post could not be made yesterday. So, I may have another one later this evening.
Have fun!
Adios.

Subject:Fiction is done!
Security:Public

I guess I was stressed out yesterday because I could not get to sleep. I kept dreaming about moving crates full of books and having to organize them by number: biggest to smallest. Then I could not wake up this morning. I had planned to go in at 8am but made it at 9 instead.
Well, today seemed somewhat shorter. Probably because I didn't actually help with the move until the ending of my shift. We got all the fiction section done and movies. Yea, I can't believe it either.

After discovering that piece of news, I learned that we will be starting on the non-fiction next. This time, I managed to get some before shots. So here they are. Feast your eyes!

I ended up getting the Suburban again. I like driving that thing. I moved maybe two loads before I had to stop. We got a lot to do tomorrow.

So, congratulate us and wish us more luck!

Adios.

Subject:More fun!!
Security:Public

I received a call from my boss this morning and said we don't need to be at work till 10am. I was due on at 8am. Good for me, I slept in.
Last night was horrendous. I needed to get my laundry done and left my laundry in my friends' car. They claimed they needed to do their laundry as well and I was going to tag along. It turns out they came to get me but I was the only one with laundry. I guess I became angry at the fact that they could have just told me there weren't going to do thiers AND it was snowing outside. (My friend has bad tires on his car.) I did have another option of doing my laundry so I was mad that they would endanger their lives on the icy roads just so they could haul me around when I specifically told them I had another option if they weren't going to do their laundry. Sure enough, we were sliding on the roads and I almost got stuck uptown and might've had to stay the night at thier house. But I found a ride home. Not that I was entirely greatful, but it was a completely unnecessary, dangerous trip. Grrr. Okay, I am done ranting.
Well, the snow accumlated overnight and I walked to work. You could see skid marks all over the road and on sidewalks where cars lost control. And already, there was a truck headed down the road who was fishtailing.
Here is what the old library looks like. Soon it will be no more. The snow was lovely.

Another moving day and I somehow ended up driving the Suburban. Back and forth, loading and unloading. It was kinda fun. And seeing as how I don't get much practice with a vehicle, I did a very good job at backing up close to our back doors and such.
By 4pm, I was getting tired. Here is a picture of me relaxing in the back of the Suburban while the good helper brings me more crates full of books. You can see my foot.

We do manage to get a lot done even though there isn't a lot of us. For all of you who visit the library often, I bet this picture is pretty shocking. Yup, we've gotten that far.

Well, that is all the news for now. Adios.

I was actually late to work this morning. My friends and I made a run to Show Low last night and didn't get back till midnight. Michael bought an ipod, the ones where you can put movies on them. Yea so, I was late but it was alright. I jumped right into work.
We all stared by packing. Safeway was awesome enough to donate crates for us to use. However, they were milk crates so I had to sponge them down because they had dried milky flakes on them.
The picture below is my coworker, Myra. She was awesome today. She had a rhythm going and we got far thanks to her. That guy is Melvin. He was transferring the books to the new library.

This guy is a gracious volunteer. Once the crates go to the new library, we had to make sure they were in order.

Shelving the books was tons of fun. The help I had was a bit annoying. She had no idea how to hand the books to me so I could shelve them. Upside down, backwards, blah, blah. I had to show her how to hand me them.

I had to come back to the old library at 4pm. I was so impressed at how much we got done. Very impressed. It almost didn't look like the same library. I am starting to wish I had taken before shots, but I am only getting the after. Oh well.

Well, we have about 3 weeks to go. Wish us luck.
Adios.

It's official! We started our move today. Us librarians figure that we start and make sure we know what we are doing. Then we can invite the volunteers. We started boxing today. Today is our last day. Part of me is relieved to not have to deal with the rude and annoying patrons. Other than that, I am excited that we are moving.

Enjoy, Adios.

2007 already!
Can't believe it. I endeavor to slow time down this year.
(Yea right!)

Anyway, I woke up this morning at 7:30am to do a load of laundry. I got that done while reading "In Her Shoes", by Jennifer Weiner. I like how she writes.
I came back, got ready for work, and made my wonderful cup of Starbucks coffee. Yum! When I got to work, my coworkers were talking about the new library. They recieved the shelves and they are set up. "It looks like a library now", they said.
So we drove over and I was so impressed and very excited.

The last image is of my friend April's mom who was walking back into the libray through our new glass doors. Those were not there the last time I was at the new library. So, we may start moving next week. We might close. I am still unclear of how they are going to do this.
But I am very excited.

On other news, I might hang out with my bride-to-be friend tonight. We are planning a trip to Flagstaff on Friday. It will be the last day to hang out with her twin brother, Joe. He is a Marine and an adorable one at that.

And my last piece of good news for the day: I was trying for the last few months to find my rhythm in living. I was trying to find answers to questions like: How much money goes to bills and how much goes to me?
So the miraculous happend. I got my electric bill and it turned out to be half of what I thought it would be. Then I got my gas bill after what seemed like forever and it turned out to be a fourth of what I thought it was going to be. What did I expect? I never really had a place of my own before. I mean I had an apartment when I was going to school but that was different. It was a college apartment and all my utilities combined came up to like 20 bucks a month. So, this is exciting.

I think that is all my news for now. It will be a busy day.
Adios.

Subject:Christmas Holiday
Security:Public

Christmas Holiday was almost hectic.
It's strange when you have everything planned out and then something totally unexpected happens that ruins everything.
For me, I was borrowing a car from a friend of mine. I had the whole weekend of Christmas all planned out but it had to change drastically because she sold the car. It was instantaneous and I was carless. Well, I enjoyed it while it lasted.
So, I had to leave Friday night to Winslow and stay there. Everything I had planned for Saturday had to wait until now. I am still working on stuff.
I didn't get back till Tuesday morning. I was late for work.

I gave my aunt her Christmas gift. It was funny because she was opening the package and felt it was a book. She was so very excited that it was just a Stephen King book. I sat waiting eargly while she was thumbing the pages. Finally she found the page where he signed it. She was completely thrilled! I was so glad and it was a need to see her face when she opened it. She was shocked that I found one. Then I told her the story of how I got it. Ohhh, wonderful ebay.

Christmas was great though, for the most part. We had our Christmas on Christmas Eve. My uncle and his wife and kids dropped by for the dinner. Honestly, his kids are part of the reason I don't want kids of my own.

Christmas day, my aunt and I had the best day ever. We did absolutely nothing but vegged out and had a Scrubs marathon. I love that show! All Day! By the end of the day, we just fell asleep since we still had our jammies on. It was so great.

Security:Public

Hello!
I slept in this morning and it was divine! I felt like I haven't done that in a while. Anyway, my aunt called me and said she needed my help. It involves going to Flagstaff at least before 10pm. I hope I get back before then.

I am spending Christmas with my aunt. I was a dummy and didn't think to check my mail today. My one chance to see if her present came in the mail!!! DAMMIT! Oh well, she will have to do until after Christmas. But when she sees the autographed Stephen King, she will think it was worth the wait.

Earlier today, I did my laundry and made some STARBUCKS coffee! Yum. I came home and i received a call from this guy that i for some reason think about a lot. It has gotten better. I don't think about him much now, but it was bad. Anyway, he called and asked if I wanted to check out this bookcase that someone was selling. Becuase I knew where he lived, I went to pick him up. Next thing I know, we are hanging out. After discovering no one was home for the bookcase, we went to have some lunch, then we ended up watching the best show ever: SCRUBS! It was a lot of fun. I couldn't stop rubbing my ear, I was a bit nervous.

Well, it turned out to be a great afternoon but my day is definately not over. It turns out that my friend MIke is having a birthday party tonight at 10pm. Strange, I know. His birthday is on Christmas. He never had a birthday party. And he is getting tired of people saying, "This present is for Christmas AND your birthday." So everyone decided to throw him a party. If I'm lucky, I might make it back in time. I really should just remain in Winslow anyway.
Oh well.

Well, I gotta go. Happy Holidays everyone if you read this.
Adios.

Thursday already!
My brother, Jack, and his family are leaving to California this afternoon. I caught them before they left. It was funny because Jack got me into the show "Scrubs". He owns seasons 1 and 2. I bought him season 3 for Christmas. I was joking to myself that after he opens his gift, then I'll ask if I can borrow it.
Well, I gave him his gift and we talked about the different textures of wrapping paper while he opened his. He laughed when he saw it and I excitedly said, "Season 3!" He laughed and looked at me and pretended to be me and said, "Can I borrow it now?"
I was embarrassed but couldn't stop laughing. Then I told him that it was a joke but not a joke, I would like to borrow it. He said, I know.
So, I have it now. It's funny that I will be the first to view it and he will get it back USED.
Hee-hee!
Anyway, I am trying to find my landlord to give her my rent check. I'm new at this so I don't know if I can stick it in an envelope and slide under her door. Hmmm.
Oh yea, and Jack's mother got me a gift. She likes me! She got me a key chain holder that I can stick on my wall and a chicken noodles soup mix. You know, like one of those pretty jars you can buy for people that have all the cookie mix in it. It's neat and I feel touched. She probably adores me in comparison to my evil sister.

I wonder how they are doing.

I heard my mom is going to Phoenix for Christmas and my brother and sister are staying here. That is dumb but it makes sense. My mom needs to go to a place where she can get away from her problems and to where people adore her. My brother would rather stay in Holbrook then stay at my aunts house. And since my sister change and not for the better, she would rather stay her than at the house of the strict christian judgmental aunt. Easy to sum up.
A

As for me, I still haven't planned what I am going to do. I am not worried about it, though. I didn't plan Thanksgiving and that worked out perfectly. I figure it will happen again. I might go to Winslow again. I wonder if I will get my aunts gift in time. I can't wait to see her face when she opens her "signed" Stephen King!! Other than that, I could also stay here with my new family Mike and Jay. They love me and Jay even bought me my own Christmas stocking. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen! It's tiny and white and fuzzy! I put it on my Christmas tree.
My Chritmas tree looks authentic now with gifts under them. Thanks again to my friend Kimmy.
Well, I am at work and I plan to visit my new family this evening. We are going to watch the Nightmare Before Christmas. I love that movie. I can't believe I don't own that one.
I also have to look for my friend Miya. She gives great Napolean Dynamite impressions. She cracks me up. So, I got her Napolean Dynamite chapstick for Christmas. I hope she likes it.
Well, I guess that is all for now. More later.
Adios

I went with my brother, Jack, to go Christmas shopping in Flagstaff. He brought along his "friend". That was funny. This girl is a nice girl, funny; and the antithesis of his ex: the wench. No make-up, likes basketball.

Anyway, I managed to get most of my gifts for others. It's always harder when the people are growing up into adults, then you have no idea what to get them. Good thing for me, I like to joke around. Make the gift funny and it turns out to be great. For example, my friend Mike is still a kid. I got him a Batman action figure. Yeah!!
Can you believe it is one week till Christmas? Time of year for those yummy cookies!

Yeah, my cousin Kelly once was making cookies. She made a 3 inch Santa and when he came out of the oven, he was 9 inches! I couldn't stop laughing! Ahh, memories.

Well, last night I had to run to Winslow. On my way back home, it was scarry. It was my first time EVER driving in the snow. Yea, scarry. I ended up driving 45 mph along with other people. And crazy thing is I actually slid some when I got into town. It freaked me out but I was okay.
Well, I still have to buy Christmas cards and wrapping paper. I hope this week flows well. At least my apartment was warm last night. Yeah!!!

Adios.

Subject:The Weekend is Upon Us!!!
Security:Public

Well, I have 2 hours till Friday.
The coolest thing happend tonight!!! My aunt is the biggest fan of Stephen King and we are both book junkies. I tried for two years to find an autographed Stephen King for her. The strange thing is that he is hard to find, even though he is so damn prolific. On ebay, his signed books range from $100+ to $1,000+. Yea, I tried for 2 years to get one, any one, but the dang things are too much out of my price range.
Well, that change tonight!!! I went to ebay and found one at $41. The Dark Hour and after biting some tape and pacing, trying to endlessly click "refresh", I WON!!! I WON!! I WON!!!

I finally got a signed Stephen King!! I am so excited and now I can give it to her for Christmas. Yea me!

Well, on other news, this weekend was fully planned but then got changed. Inevitably. Friday night is my work's Christmas party and I invited my aunt, the Stephen King fan, and my cousin Kelly. Afterwards, we were supposed to go to Show Low for Christmas shopping with my friends Jay and Mike. Well, they decided they were going to Flagstaff instead. I wonder what I am going to do. My brother said he might go to Flag on Sunday. I could do that. I hope it works.

There is other stuff going on but I can't remember it all. I hope this weekend flows well. So, adios.

Subject:Friday!!

Well, the weekend is upon us. I am excited. This weekend will be different than other weeekends. I feel good about this one.

I am going to visit some friends of mine. I don't get to visit them often because they are located on the other end of town. I can visit them now because I have a friend who is a saint. Not a real saint, of course, but a truly great friend. She is letting me use her car for the remainder of the month.
I am totally excited becuase now I can visit people, instead of having them visit me; I can get groceries when I need to instead of waiting for someone to take me; and I can use the quality laundry mat instead of the ghetto gas station laundry.
It will be nice.

Another great plan for the weekend is I am going to babysit my nephew. I miss him so much, my little Bubby. He is my beloved and we are going to have lots of fun. He has all the great movies like "The Incredibles" and "Shrek 2". Can't wait.

Oh yea, I might get a Christmas tree today. My good friend Jay's mom might bring me one. I just wonder how Jay will handle that seeing as how her and her mom don't get along much. I hope she doesn't mind.
Jay called me today and had an idea. She is getting married soon and she truly feels like she can make the bridesmaid dresses. She wanted to make mine first now and if that doesn't go well, then we still have the option to buy. I think making them will be great and inexpensive. However, why does she have to start with mine? Like any girl planning a big event, she likes to get prepared first. Prepared in the sense of losing weight. Give me a break!!! Yea so I said, "Why not Jess?" That is her sister. And Jay explained how she is still growing and will be taller by the wedding and that just won't work. WEll, we shall see what will happen.

I had a thought today. One of the main reasons I moved out of my mom's house was because she accused me of basically having an affair with my sister's husband. I know that was all the evil wench's doing because I know my mother would never think such things of me had the little wench not moved in. Anyway, it took the wench three days to sign the divorce papers. And now she is thinking of bailing out to texas with a boyfriend come January. How selfish can one get?? Anyway, it occured to me that it is done! Before, I had to be careful. I didn't want them throwing accusations at me. But now, it's gone. They tie that they had on me is gone. They have absolutely nothing on me now. It's pretty amazing. Strange even. I wouldn't do anything anyways but now, they just can't say anything. It's done.

Well, I guess that is all for now.
Adios.

Subject:Dayz gone by

It's strange, but working in a library actually makes time fly. You probably wouldn't think so, but it does. What happens is people come in and out, checking books out and we endlessly print out due dates. It's the due dates that you see maybe 90 times a day that makes the months pass you by. For example, all due dates that printed today were 12/28/06. Can you imagine? So it is still the beginning of December but us librarians know that in 3 weeks, IT'S PRACTICALLY OVER!!!
IT'S NOT FAIR!!!

So anyway, I hope I still have time to make my new apartment a little festive. Maybe a tree and some lights. Maybe some ribbons. But I definately would like some color. As for Christmas plans, don't have any yet. But I think I will let them unfold themselves. It worked nicely like that for Thanksgiving. And it was just were I wanted to be. Maybe it will happen again.

One thing for sure, I am truly thankful for all my friends. I had no idea how great they were and how much they'd do for me until things got all turned upside down. I left my home and family to preserve my sanity and I stayed with this awesome Grandi lady and her adorable husband. They let me stay with them for about a month until I could afford my place. I had all kinds of help from many of my amazing friends and I got situated into my new apartment. And I am loving my new apartment. It's big. I never had a place that big.

And the ultimate truth is that I found peace. When I lived with my family, I was losing my mind and crying all the time. I now realize that I haven't cried since I left.
*Peace*

I am pretty much considering this a new beginning and honestly, I am a bit scared. I need start planning for my future and go back to school. I will go. Soon.

And I am learning lots like: Food lasts longer when there is only one person. Funny huh? Oh yea, and I have to learn how to cook. That is where my awesome friends come in again. They have great food that I have to learn how to make, like chicken enchiladas and chocolate chip pancakes. (Of course pancakes are so simple, but you must understand that I am an amatuer. I ruined my second attempt at scrambled eggs.)

Well, gotta go. More later.
Adios.

Well, the weekedend was great.
I hung out with my aunt and cousin, whom I call "Whiplash Kelly". Her driving stengthens our faith in the Lord. No kidding.
And she makes the best pizza!

I had a great breather all weekend. I came back and wondered how things were going to be on their end becuase I was going to mellow out and get things done.
I already got my post office box.
I called my school counselor when I was at EAC. The cool thing was when I was in the middle of saying, "I wonder if you remember me but my name is-".
And Gina screams my name, she recognized me!!! That was very impressive considering I haven't seen her in like 3 years.
Anyway, she told me where to go to start my escape plan of going back to school.
I realized that I need time to do this. One hour a day is not enough time.
But I'll figure it out.
Wish me luck!
